It often seems to us that the stars (Hollywood actors, world-famous singers, supermodels, etc.) have always been so - beautiful, cool and charismatic. Like, they literally “were born with a golden spoon in their mouth”, so how could they not become so rich famous?
This is only for us - ordinary people, sometimes we have to work in places that we don’t want to remember later (and even more so tell someone about it).
But no! A lot of future stars in their youth were just as restless, penniless and took up any work to feed themselves (and, maybe, save something for acting classes).
And here are 10 eloquent examples of the fact that the current "celestials" life once was not sugar:
10. Whoopi Goldberg - make-up artist at a funeral agency
The future “comedy queen” (actually Goldberg’s real name is Karin Elaine Johnson) because of dyslexia was not able to finish school, where she performed at the children's theater, showing the first signs of acting talent.
Escaping from home, Karin lived for several years in a hippie commune and sat heavily on drugs. She was pulled out of this hopeless swamp by her future husband, Alvin Martin.
But before Whoopi got her first role in the theater in San Diego, she already managed to work as a night watchman, and then as a bricker and even a make-up artist in a ritual agency (she cleaned the dead before the funeral).
9. Ashton Kutcher - Cornflake Sweeper
And handsome Ashton Kutcher, well-known for his roles in such films as “The Butterfly Effect”, “More than Love”, “More than Sex”, “Womanizer”, “Jobs: Empire of Temptation”, etc. (Ah, yes! And also, as the ex-husband of actress Demi Moore!) At one time he learned to handle a broom well.
The fact is that before becoming an actor, Ashton worked part-time at General Mills, one of the largest food production companies in the United States.
More precisely, he cleaned up the garbage remaining in the manufacture of corn flakes. And donated blood for money.
8. Miley Cyrus - Underwear Picker
Miley is the daughter of Billy Ray Cyrus, a very famous country singer in the USA. And in her teens, she had a very unusual (if not more frankly ...) “profession”.
Dad paid her $ 10 after each of her concerts for collecting bras, panties and the like from the stage and in the hall that heated fans threw at Billy Ray during his performances.
Hmm ... Frankly, a very dubious pleasure.
7. Emma Stone - a worker in a dog bakery
At the age of 30, Emma Stone is one of the highest paid actresses in the world, as well as the winner of the Golden Globe, BAFTA and Oscar awards for her role as Mia Dolan in the musical La La Land (2017). The media together admire her as one of the most talented actresses of this generation.
And exactly “half a life” ago (at the age of 15), Stone, for sure, did not dream of such success. Then she moonlighted in a bakery, and not in the usual - human, but in the dog. Emma baked various “snacks” for four-legged pets.
6. Cindy Crawford - a corn picker
And here is a typical Cinderella story. The future world famous supermodel Cindy Crawford, her former “profession” just helped to find a way in life.
A girl from the most ordinary family (from the town of De Calb, Illinois) at the age of 16 worked on a corn field. There she was photographed by a local reporter.
And this very photograph, having collected a considerable amount of flattering comments about the young Cindy captured on it, and led the girl to think about a career as a fashion model. As Crawford herself later joked: “They found me in the corn!”
5. Quentin Tarantino - a ticket cinema ticket agent
Who has not heard of the cult director Tarantino today? But his career was once preceded by some very strange activities.
So, having left school at the age of 15 (it was with a Christian bias, which young Quentin did not like very much), he promised his mother that he would find a job. And he found - he became a ticket agent in a movie theater (but, of course, he did not inform his parent that it was a porno movie theater).
Later, he got a video rental in Manhattan, where he enjoyed discussing films with colleagues and recommended them to clients. By the way, Tarantino still considers this his work to be the best until he became a director.
4. Chris Hemsworth - Breast Pump Cleaner
What image do you have in mind when it comes to Chris Hemsworth? Of course, - a brutal (and beautifully blond) strongman Thor with a huge hammer in his hand.
So in his youth, Chris had to handle completely different things. He worked part time in a store for mothers: among other things, he had to manually wash the breast pumps that were rented to the ladies.
Hemsworth still recalls this work with a shudder, calling it the worst thing that ever happened to him in life.
3. Matthew McConaughey - Armadillos Repeller
Matthew McConaughey, another of Hollywood’s main beauties, couldn’t decide for a long time whether he would become a lawyer or still connect his life with cinema.
Before joining the specialty “Radio, Television and Cinema”, young Mat managed to work first on a chicken farm, and then, after exchanging for a year in Australia (in the town of Warnervale) - on a golf course.
There, it was his duty at night to tidy up the sand bunkers, ball traps, and at the same time to drive armadillos from the field, who were very fond of pinching juicy and neat grass on the lawns.
2. Orlando Bloom - a worker at the shooting range
Orlando Bloom, the future “Hollywood's most beautiful elf,” and well-aimed archer, played on stage at school. Well, since the age of 16, he has already officially received roles in the performances of the National Youth Theater in London.
Nevertheless, in his early youth he sometimes had to earn extra money in a different way: for example, for some time he worked in a shooting club, where hunters fired at clay plates in order to train. Orlando loaded these very plates into a special machine, from where they then flew into the air.
1. Bill Murray - a waiter in a pizzeria
The most charming Bill Murray in his youth was not that he worked in some special, very interesting place or did something extraordinary - he was a waiter at Little Caesars (the third largest pizzeria in the USA).
But he still (being a real world star) with nostalgia recalls those times and calls Caesars his favorite work.
By his own admission, when he was very hungry, he sometimes ate raw dough there. And once Murray seriously advised his pizza colleague to participate in the Iron Chef cooking show - it was Kerry Simon, now one of the most famous chefs in America.
And by the way, Murray, when he bites at a cafe, loves to carry french fries from other people's plates, saying: “Nobody will believe you anyway!”
